The total number of places available was 51, for which some 5,816 people had applied. Of the 51 selected, 24, or 47 percent, were non-white applicants.
Potential selectees also had their photographs taken, so that their race could be taken into account when applicants would be chosen.
On top of all that, candidates were also asked if they had “experience in writing stories that would appeal to people from different racial backgrounds" - Obviously an unfair disadvantage for non ethnic minorities.
Whilst Britain braces itself for a "painful" spending cut, the government approves a £100 million foreign aid package to Gaza
Prime Minister David Cameron has told Britain to brace itself for a "painful" cut in domestic spending, whilst at the same time his government approves a £100 million foreign aid package to Gaza.
University places are to be cut by atleast 10,000.
Other cuts include: The education budget (£670 million), Business (£836 million),
The Transport budget (£683 million), Communities and Local Government (£780 million)
and Justice (£325 million).
Non of these cuts will affect the £9.1 billion foreign aid budget, which the government has also promised to increase to £13 billion in due course.
Council defends "non- whites" only job.
Bristol City council is offering a job that white people are not allowed to apply for.
The advert for two-year management training contract, worth almost £20,000 says only people from an ethnic minority are allowed to apply.
The council has defended it's actions saying it was well in it's legal right to do so.
One man (who was white) wanted to apply for the job but then saw he couldn't because of his skin colour, said "I am a tolerant white person who has lived in Bristol for 27 years. I am currently searching for a job and stumbled across a job advertisement on Bristol City Council's website that I see as totally racist. I feel the job itself would be an excellent opportunity for me to make use of the skills and qualifications that I have acquired. However, being white I am totally excluded from applying for the post."
